Inside Winter Bulbs

As winter blues settle in, Ziva Paperwhites ( Narcissus tarzetti  ‘Paperwhites Ziva’) are refreshingly breathtaking. Many people love forcing them indoors during the winter months which is super simple. I love to plant in dirt.  Place bulbs on top of 2” of potting soil, place soil or decorative rock to cover the base of the bulbs. Leave the top part of the bulb exposed. Water well and place in a cool dark place for 10 days.  Then place in a sunny location and in a few weeks you will have dozens of beautiful scented blooms. Cherry Nymph Amaryllis is probably the bloom you think of when you hear the word Amaryllis. It's bright red double blooms will add a little joy to your holiday decor.  Our Cherry Nymph bulbs are some of the biggest available.  Amaryllis is commonly used when referring to Hippeastrum.  These flowers are commonly used for winter time blooms for those of us up north while our southern customers get to enjoy these in winter and in the summer.   Simply plant your bulbs, water, and give sunshine and in 6-8 weeks, you will have beautiful blossoms. You can keep your bulbs planted to enjoy their green leaves and bring them right outside at spring.  They will bloom periodically.  ATo get them ready for Christmas,  Hardy to USDA Zone 9-10 for year round outside planting.  Bulb Size: 34 cm

Freesia Double Mixture - 15 per order Beautiful blooms adorn each plant.  They bloom at a wonderful time when other plants are not at their peak.  Freesias are very easy to plant and care for.  We provide some of the largest bulbs in the industry which means bigger blooms for you.  Bloom times differ depending if you are in Zones 9-11 or 3-8.   Freesias are a tropical plant that are hardy in USDA Zones 9-11 and grown as annuals in the rest of the United States. In the zones they are hardy (9-11) you get blooms in the cooler months and they go dormant in the hotter months.  They need around 110 days to bloom from planting, so if you are in Zones 3 & 4, you will need to start in pots for the best success, much like cannas. Chinese Scared Lily ( 'Narcissus tarzetti’) have been used to celebrate the Chinese New Year for centuries. They are a member of the Paperwhite family and are beautiful in potted arrangements and will brighten any room.  The Chinese culture have been planting this for centuries and because it blooms so early it became associated with the Chinese New Year.
