AC White Rabbit is probably the most popular bicolor purple ball dahlia on the market today. She yields beautiful bi color purple and white blooms by the buckets. I grow all of Firefly Farm & Mercantile's dahlias on our farm in Cashton, WI. This allows us to bring amazingly healthy stocks. Characteristics 4-5” tall Blooms are 3-6” wide USDA Zones 8-10 (Hardy in these zones, lift and store in winter in other zones) Summer to Fall Bloom Duration: Continuous Blooms through frost starting in mid to late summer Full Sun to Partial Shade Additional Information Great for Mass Plantings, Borders, and Cutting Gardens. Great for butterflies and other pollinators Ships starting by early April. We have shipped in the fall but do please reach out for this. Key Planting Tips We plant dahlia tubers 4-6" deep. We add a few alfafla pellets in the hole and backfill with topsoil amended with compost. We space this variety 18" apart. We recommend to simply pinch back the shoots after about 3-4 weeks to encourage branching. You can amend soil with 10-10-10 or something similar. The 'Alpha' gladiolus are always so popular in the store as this shade of purple is always so wonderful in the garden. We provide them in 12/14 cm bulbs (technically corms) so you get the best available. Gladiolus are deer, rabbits, and rodent resistant. Pausing our cuttings for this as we habe enough fo two rounds. 'American Dawn' Dahlias are quite the cheerful flower. Their bright hues combined with their strong stems are wonderful in the garden. We will be taking rooted cutting orders that should be ready in mid April. We only ship UPS for our cuttings and we will collect any shipping needed at time of shipment. We did not place this as a requirement since our gardeners like to make purchases for multiple seasons. We only ship rooted cuttings and not regular cuttings. No tubers will be offered in 2026 but we hope our cutting program goes well and we are offering some limited numbers. We are doing this to grow our own stock out more quickly. American Dawn is requested in high numbers. Dahlias - We love dahlias for the endless blooms they produce though the season never feels ling enough. We have around 200 varieties we have been growing out on our farm. Dahlias reward gardeners with an abundance of blooms starting in mid to late summer through frost.
