Wild Senna is is a fast growng perennial. It is often mistaken for a shurb or small tree but it is completely herbaceous and dies back each year. It is an essential food source for turkeys and other birds, host plant for various butterflies and helps to provide forage for bees and butterflies. Wild Senna loves full sun. It's range is East of the Mississippi with the exception of Florida and Mississippi. And is also found throughout Iowa.
