Formanova or Cylindra Beets - Large, cylindrical roots that slice into uniform pieces ideal for cooking or canning.

Roots are long and extend well above the soil for easy harvest. Great market appeal from unusual shape. Productive storage variety with deep red flesh and healthy, harvest ready leaves. From our partners at Sativa Organic Seeds. The Dutch bred beets to be long and cylinder in shape as it took up less room in their gardens and were excellent for processing. Formanova goes by Cylindra and also Butter Slicer beets.

Instructions -

Sow seeds outdoors as soon as soil can be worked in spring. Seeds will germinate in 5-10 days. Keep planting in two-week intervals for a continuous harvest.

Planting Depth: 1/2 - 3/4" 

Plant Rows Apart: 12-24" 

Thin: 2-4" apart depending on desired size
