Firefly Farm & Mercantile's Red Rocoto Pepper is sure to bring some flavor to your culinary creations. This pepper has a few other names such as Locoto and Manzano. Native to Peru and Boliva, it is sought after for its flavor and hear. It has black seeds which is a very rare trait in peppers.
This pepper has such an amazing array of ways to use it. These hardy pepper plants will grow for years if protected from heavy frost and freezing. For those in areas where it is a shrub you will be produced with a multitude of peppers on subsequent years.
Seeds can be hard to germinate, keep them over 75 degrees F. Plants will then do great in cooler climates as the mountain life is where they were cultiavted for centuries. Keep fruit on plant until you are ready to use.
Instructions - Sow seeds ¼” deep 8 weeks before the last frost. Peppers germinate best in warm soil above 70 degrees F.
