The Seed Savers Exchange - (C. maxima) Donated to SSE in 1998 by Ortha and Wallace Broeker of Nebraska. Wallace remembers his uncle Rob growing this variety back in the 1930s. This Hubbard-type squash has teardrop-shaped fruit and attractive salmon and blue-green skin. Fruits average 4 lbs. and are very sweet, with a unique flavor. 100 days.

Instructions - Sow seeds outdoors in 12" diameter hills after danger of frost has passed. Hills should be spaced 6' apart in all directions. Can also be started indoors 3 weeks before transplanting out.
