The Seed Savers Exchange - A fabulous Midwest historic variety introduced in 1937 by the Robert Buist Company. Heavy yields of football-shaped 4-8 pound muskmelons. Hard-shelled with firm sweet flesh. Great old-fashioned flavor associated with roadside stand melons. If you can only grow one melon and do not want to be disappointed, this is the variety to grow.

    Instructions - Melons love heat. Sow seeds outdoors in 12" diameter hills after danger of frost has passed and soil has warmed. Space hills 6' apart in all directions. Seeds will germinate in 4-10 days. Can also be started indoors 2-3 weeks before last frost.
