Asparagus - A longtime favorite perennial spring crop loved by all.  Perennial vegetables and crops are a dream for many of us. You plant once and the crops continue for years to come. Choose from our sought after varieties. We have varieties for Zones 3-9. 

We start shipping the last week of March typically. 

• Jersey Knight  - USDA Zones 4-8 A springtime perennial vegetable that is a male type, one of the best producers with large spears
• Mary Washington  - USDA Zones 4-8 A springtime perennial vegetable that is a female type with smaller, more tender spears, most popular selection.
• Purple Passion - USDA Zones 3-9 Produces medium to large purple spears that turn green when cooked. A vigorous, early, and high-yielding variety with a mix of male and female plants. Has a rich, nutty flavor and is known for being sweeter and more tender than other asaparagus varieties. Cold hardy and heat tolerant. 

Asparagus will reward you with years to crops if you plant in deep and fertile soil. An annual amending of compost in early spring is best. Plant once year 1 and start harvesting by year 3. To get started soak the crowns in water (no chlorine or fluoride) for 20-30 minutes. Then plant the crown so it’s 6” from the soil line. Bury only up to 3” and then add soil as the asparagus grows. This only has to be done the first year of planting.
