High Mowing Organic Seeds - Vigorous variety produces good yields of straight, smooth fruits. Fern leaf peonies come in various sizes just like their counterparts. This fern-leaf peony is 12-16” so it will be an early bloomer. It has single red blossoms offering a stunning visual against the bright green fern leaves. Locally Grown Garlic Scapes from $12.00
Garlic is a little later this year. We will start shipping scapes July7 this year (2025).! These don’t last forever and is like Christmas, comes only once a year.  Garlic Scapes are a garlic lover’s dream. Garlic scapes are the flowering stalk on hard neck garlic that is tender and tastes like garlic. The garlic scape is harvested the garlic bulbs grow even bigger. It is often used to make garlic scape pesto, infused oils, chopped in salads, sauted with veggies or meats and added to sauces. Our garlic scapes are grown on a certified organic farm and just miles from our farm and garden shop. We cannot certify them organic as we do not have our organic handling license.  They’ll start to be harvested at the end of this week and will be available for shipping on June 17.  They will be harvest all week so don’t delay. Fresh scapes are truly wonderful and yes they ship amazingly well.

We add a few alfafla pellets in the hole and backfill with topsoil amended with compost. We space this variety 18" apart.  We recommend to simply pinch back the shoots after about 3-4 weeks to encourage branching.  You can amend soil with 10-10-10 or something similar. Just make sure the first number (nitrogen) is 5 or 10. You can fertilize every 4 weeks to help achieve larger blossoms. For 90% of us, don’t water until your Dahlia sprouts. If your soil is very dry, water the soil first and then let it stand for 30 minutes before planting. Mulch around your plant leaving bare dirt directly above the tuber.
