Inside Winter Bulbs

We have now opened up preorders for the season. These are all shipped around 10/25.  Waxed Amaryllis, are encased in wax.  There is no need to water. There is no planting involved. You simply place it on your counter in a sunny location, and just watch it grow.  Waxed Amaryllis make great gifts for everyone, inlcuding those who don't have a green thumb. Select from anyone of our great options.  Amaryllis is commonly used when referring to Hippeastrum.  These flowers are commonly used for winter time blooms for those of us up north while our southern customers get to enjoy these in winter and in the summer.    Because of the no fuss method involved, you cannot replant these.  We do have lots of options available for the more traditional Amaryllis.  You can find them at here Inside Winter Bulbs (fireflyfarmandmercantile.com).  

Pure white blossoms on our White Amaryllis Belladonna thrive in the heat and don't mind humidity. They are great for containers or in your garden beds.  They are carefree and take very little care. They bloom in the heat of summer and then will shoot up leaves. For this reason we bring in the largest bulbs we can find and they should be planted right away.  They are hardy to USDA Zones 7-11 only and will be need to be lifted or protected in other climates.  We offer these for sale in Spring, Fall, and Winter. Mandela is the classic holiday deep red color on a double flower. It’s a beautiful flower for those looking for solid red in their Amaryllis. Mandela is a smaller bulb and is 28/30 cm in circumerence.  We pride ourselves on our Jumbo Amaryllis but we understand it is nice to have a beautiful bloom and for a valued price. Hyacinths are great outside and equally great inside.  They are very easy to force and our hyacinths in glass vases are so unique. You get to see the development of the entire flower even the roots.
