Cylindra Beet, Formanova Beet, or Long Beet, Danish Heirloom

Cylindra Beet, Formanova Beet, or Long Beet are names for the same beet. We source them all year long as they can be grown all all year round in mild climates and for a very long period of time in northern climates.  This Danish variety looks like a carrot and provides long tapered beets to give more beet in a small spaces. Cylindra Beets are very finely textrured allowed them to be used in a wide range of culinary options. Pickle it, bake it, roast it, steam it, slice it for raw applications - it all will tastes great. We source it from various seed companies - simply choose the in-stock option we have below. Sometimes we carry all of them. Highmowing has both Cylindra and Formanova packeted this year so we are offering both and trialing the differences.  Formanova from Highmowing is from their friends at Sativa Organic Seeds.

Instructions  Sow seeds outdoors as soon as soil can be worked in spring. Seeds will germinate in 5-10 days. Keep planting in two-week intervals for a continuous harvest. All parts of the beet plant are edible.
