Krauthaeuptel Streits Lettuce

The Seed Savers Exchange - Looking for a lettuce with top-notch texture and a sweet flavor with not a hint of bitterness? Then this Austrian crisphead is for you! Heads vary from slight to well-developed and have light-green, obovate (broader at the top) leaves with a highly undulating, toothed-leaf margin. Plants average 6" tall and 10" in diameter, with the largest leaves reaching 7" long by 7.6" wide. Seed Savers Exchange acquired this mid-season-maturing variety from the late Mary Schultz, an SSE member and Exchange lister from Washington.

Instructions - Sow continuously for a constant supply of lettuce. Best grown in cooler weather. Plant in full sun or partial shade.
