Fat Goose Pole Bean - The yields are impressive! A pole beam used as dry primarily but can be eaten as a snap bean if harvested young. The beans are tan and are round, flat but thick. The vine grows around 6-8' tall and is a heavy producer. This bean is grown at Firefly Farm in our heirloom production garden. The origin of this bean comes from Seedsavers Exchange who received it from John Withee of Lynnfield, Massachusetts in 1981. We mentioned John Withee in out listings, like others seed collectors, to help show the work that was done. John received it from Dorotha Shortridge in the 1970's when she lived in Indiana. Large tan bean with maroon markings. This is very similar to a Cherry Bean or a Dwarf Horticulture Bean. The pods are mature to be maroon with cream striping. Hopi Yellow Lima Bean - I love the color as it adds to the rainbow of limas so we grow it. It varies in production but since we get more dry spells. I wanted a lima that would thrive in drought. We grow this variety in our heirloom gardens at Firefly Farm & Mercantile in Cashton, Wisconsin. Hopi Yellow is a pre-colonial landrace lima stewarded by the Hopi Nation. The lima does well in dry conditions and prefers a longer season than our zone 4 garden but we still get a decent harvest. Supplies are limited and orders have started pouring in so we have this variety on hold until we pack up more. Alabama Black Butterbeans Alabama Black Butterbean history is tied to a farmer named Sam Reid of Blount County, Alabama. He offered this seed in 1995 and placed an ad in the Alabama Farmers Bulletin. Bill Peters of Alabaster, Al answered the ad and obtained this cool seed. I lived in the neighboring town in the mid 2000's, Chelsea, Alabama and this is where I first tried and heard the name - Alabama Black Butterbeans. I never did get any seeds as life gets crazy and years later I regretted it. It was always in the back of my mind to find these seeds. The seeds were found and amazingly hyper local as my friend Craig (of Hillsboro, WI) actually had this seed and shared some with me as he obtained seeds years prior. I grew my first crop in 2025 and boy did it ever flourish We are lucky to have one of the rarest heirlooms in our collection. We grow this variety in our heirloom gardens at Firefly Farm & Mercantile in Cashton, Wisconsin. The origin of the Burgundy Wine Lima is of interest for Dr. John Wyche fans. It is thought this was one he raised. The lineage of this seed is not direct but that is part of Seedsaving! Mary Schultz of Monroe, Washington donated to Seedsavers Exchange (where I requested my original seedstock from). She received it from Lloyd Duggins of Indiana. And he received it from Dr. John Wyche is how it is understood. However it came to be, it is a beast of a producer. PRIVACY POLICY

If for any reason you are not happy with a purchase, please email us at andre@fireflyfarmandmercantile.com so we can assist.&nbsp; We do provide refunds up to 10 days of you receiving merchandise. We may ask for the product to be returned to be eligible for a refund. We do not do refunds for shipping unless it is something we feel we could have done better. Carriers often don’t deliver based on their own timelines but you can always pick up at our garden shop too. Unlike most online garden online retailers we have a business location too, so come in out and visit our farm.

Shipping Policy: 
Seasonal Availability: We typically have more than one season of products available to order.&nbsp; We separate these at time of fulfillment. Shipping is typically collected for the shipment leaving the soonest and for pre-ordered items, we will send you a shipping invoice to pay before your merchandise arrives.&nbsp;
Pre-calculated weights:
Sometimes the products purchased may weigh more or less than the calculated shipping rate. We try our best to determine the weights based on current and past inventory.&nbsp; We do provide refunds proactively and will communicate accordingly.&nbsp;
We try our best to offer the right services for you at checkout. If we see an opportunity for a more desirable service we will reach out to you. Please ensure we have a good contact number or email&nbsp; so we can do so.&nbsp;
United States Postal Service and UPS services go out Monday through Friday. This allows us to ensure we provide a quality product at a reasonable rate. Any delivery times are just estimates from the carrier once they receive the package. We cannot change this due to Shopify’s policy. I would if I could as it can lead to some confusion.
We are a small garden shop and have very little pull with any carrier (and seriously who really does with USPS or any other). For the most part UPS timelines have been the most consistent. But there are not delivery dates but days your package will be in transit once we drop it off. In average we take 1-4 business days to fulfill orders and then the carrier’s approximate shipping times are added to that.&nbsp;

SHIPPING POLICY

We accept various forms for payment. Currently we accept Visa, Mastercard, Discover, and American Express as well as Google Pay and Shop Pay.
We strive to deliver on what we say we are going to do. Pre-orders are orders that are being taken without inventory on hand. The advantage is you get a great price, but sometimes crops just don't yield what is expected. We will use many different suppliers to fulfill your orders as best as possible. We won't substitute without your permission so please make sure you leave your best contact information so we can reach out to you. On occasion if unable to reach you, we will simply send the substitute product but you are welcome to call us once receiving it and letting us know you’d like a refund on it.
