'Rebecca's World' Dahlia (Cactus) - The Red & White Color Combinations that the flowers will show vary greatly. Here are two examples and there cna be dozens of others. The first picture is stunning and this is what many dahlia lovers are going for.  It could take all summer to get a bloom like this but the journey is worth it! It is show stopping. If you could get this flower to become stable like the first picture, you'd have folks knocking down your door.  We grow all of the dahlias we offer on our farm in Cashton, Wisconsin.  Cactus dahlias are wonderful plants that provide structure and color to any garden with minimal effort. They do rather well in the middle to back of your beds or even in stand-alone rows. They reward gardeners with an abundance of blooms starting in mid to late summer through frost.  Typically they are not bothered by diseases and have attractive foliage until frost.  Characteristics 30-50” tall (Many people pinch back to encourage a bushier, shorter plant) Blooms are 3-4” wide USDA Zones 8-10 (Hardy in these zones, lift and store in winter in other zones) Summer to Fall Bloom Duration: Continuous Blooms through frost starting in mid to late summer Full Sun to Partial Shade Additional Information Great for Mass Plantings, Borders, and Cutting Gardens. We add a few alfafla pellets in the hole and backfill with topsoil amended with compost. We space this variety 18" apart.  We recommend to simply pinch back the shoots after about 3-4 weeks to encourage branching.  You can amend soil with 10-10-10 or something similar. Just make sure the first number (nitrogen) is 5 or 10. You can fertilize every 4 weeks to help achieve larger blossoms. For 90% of us, don’t water until your Dahlia sprouts. If your soil is very dry, water the soil first and then let it stand for 30 minutes before planting. Mulch around your plant leaving bare dirt directly above the tuber. ‘Red Labyrinth’ Dahlia (Decorative) The 'Red Labyrinth' Dahlia's is similair in syle and grace like Labryinth but in a bold red.  It is wild and glorious, fitting for any gardener who wants to be noticed! 'Sam Hopkins' deep maroon tones will entrance you. Many folks think they look similar to Karma Choc but Sam Hopkins has green leaves versus the burgundy leaves Sam Hopkins has.  Semi-Dinnerplate Dahlias are awesome additions to any garden. ‘Santander’ Dahlia (Decorative) - The 'Santander' variety is a stunning variety of whites and magentas.  It is very easy to stop and admire the blooms.  You will be asking yourself why didn’t you plant more of these since they are breathtaking. 'Snow Country' Dahlia (Dinnerplate) - One of the whitest blossoms available for dahlias will delight your senses.   The blossoms will glow across your landscape and arrangements with this dahlia. The blossoms look stunning in your gardens and bouquets. 'Vancouver' Dahlia (Dinnerplate) - Vancouvers are fun dinnerplate dahlias. They have a beautiful flower with deep pinks and whites that are playful in the gardens and your bouquets. Agapanthus Blue or African Lily blooms during some of the hottest months.  They are great for containers or in the garden border and formal landscapes. An absolute must in southern gardens and is a knock out in containers for northern landscapes.  Agapanthus produce numerous blossoms atop wonderful lush foliage. They are hardy to USDA Zones 7-11 only and will be need to be lifted or protected in other climates.  Characteristics 32-36" tall  USDA Zones 7-11 (Hardy in these zones, lift and store in winter in other zones) Blooms Mid to Late Summer Full Sun to Partial Shade Additional Information Great for Borders, Cutting Gardens, and Containers Ships starting in mid to late March Not bothered by deer, rabbits or other wildlife Key Planting Tips Agapanthus should be planted 2" deep and 6" apart. Wait for the soil to reach 65 degrees Fahrenheit. You can start inside in pots and transplant to the gardens to give them a head start. Water immediately. 

Contrast in gardens can be everything and Alocaisa Upright Plumbea Nigra will do that for you. The massive dark leaves will capture your attention and help provide focal points and interest in your gardens.  They are hardy to USDA Zones 8-11 only and will be need to be lifted or protected in other climates.  Characteristics 32-48" tall  USDA Zones 8-11 (Hardy in these zones, lift and store in winter in other zones) Full Sun to Partial Shade Additional Information Great for Borders, Cutting Gardens, and Containers Ships starting in mid to late March Not bothered by deer, rabbits or other wildlife The picture shown is a similar Alocasia, Nigra Plumbea will be darker in color.
