Our Sparkling Burgundy Pineapple Lily or Eucomis - makes a great plant for borders in warmer climates or is ideal for containers. It provides a unique lush look with unique tropical blooms.  it is not finicky, it just needs consistent moisture in soil that is amended with compost. Purple Flame has been bred for color and for strong stems.  They produce a multitude of blooms that will help you have plenty of options for your flower arrangements. And these upright and strong stems means they are stately in any garden. We add a few alfafla pellets in the hole and backfill with topsoil amended with compost. We space this variety 18" apart.  We recommend to simply pinch back the shoots after about 3-4 weeks to encourage branching.  You can amend soil with 10-10-10 or something similar. Just make sure the first number (nitrogen) is 5 or 10. You can fertilize every 4 weeks to help achieve larger blossoms. For 90% of us, don’t water until your Dahlia sprouts. If your soil is very dry, water the soil first and then let it stand for 30 minutes before planting. Mulch around your plant leaving bare dirt directly above the tuber. Fall of 2025 Shipping - Our Jumbo Size Ranunuculus corms are a great way to get more flowers the first year. The bulbs are two to three times the size of our regular corms. Ranunculus are a favorite bride's flowers and yet gardeners shy away from these very easy flowers.  You simply treat them as begonia but for full sun conditions. They are exceptional in garden beds and stunning in containers. The blooms are full and the foliage is lush. The blossoms are adored by bees and butterflies.  They are hardy to USDA Zones 8-10 only and will be need to be lifted or protected in other climates.  Characteristics Tecolotes are 14-16" tall with 3-6" blooms USDA Zones 8-10 (Hardy in these zones, lift and store in winter in other zones), while Aviv can be sightly shorter at 12-16" tall.   Blooms in spring for Zones 8-10, and in mind to late summer for all other zones.  You can start in containers earlier in the season or simply enjoy them as they bloom.  Full Sun Sunset colored blooms Additional Information Great for Borders, Cutting Gardens, and Containers Key Planting Tips Plant 2-3" Deep, 4-6" apart.  Water when planted and keep them watered throughout their growing season.
