The Seed Savers Exchange - The ‘Peg O’ My Heart’ tomato has been a consistent favorite at the Staunton (Virginia) Farmers’ Market since Peg Davis first began to sell this delicious beefsteak variety there years ago. Prolific plants produce large, 1-2 pound, firm fruits with meaty flesh and a complex, balanced flavor. It is an indeterminate variety, continuing to provide a steady harvest throughout the season.“With each passing year, the tomatoes just get bigger and better,” says Peg, the variety’s longtime steward. “Our customers wait for it every year, and by the last week of July we have long lines waiting for the first ripe ‘Peg’ tomato.” When she was in her twenties, Peg Davis of Middlebrook, Virginia, received four tomato seeds from a student in her 9th-grade horticulture class. The student’s deceased grandparents had grown the variety in Pennsylvania all their lives, but the family was no longer interested in continuing the tradition. For nearly five decades, Peg has grown and selected seeds from this beautiful, productive, and flavorful pink beefsteak variety on her farm in the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia. Burgundy Wine Lima Bean - Gorgeous lima and a heavy producer. In our zone 4 garden we plenty to eat and plenty to raise for seed. This is a pole lima that excelled for us. We grow this variety in our heirloom gardens at Firefly Farm & Mercantile in Cashton, Wisconsin. The origin of the Burgundy Wine Lima is of interest for Dr. John Wyche fans. It is thought this was one he raised. The lineage of this seed is not direct but that is part of Seedsaving! Mary Schultz of Monroe, Washington donated to Seedsavers Exchange (where I requested my original seedstock from). She received it from Lloyd Duggins of Indiana. And he received it from Dr. John Wyche is how it is understood. However it came to be, it is a beast of a producer. Characteristics: Good for the North and Great for the South Prolific producer Pole Lima bean 75-80 days for eating, 100 for dried We offer it in minipacks or packs of 25. Blue Coco Pole Bean, 1775 French Heirloom

Hollow Crown Parsnip, 1800's Heirloom, Seed Savers Exchange - This popular heirloom parsnip variety produces long (up to 15”), smooth, white roots with a sweet, nutty flavor that intensifies after exposure to frost. The roots can be roasted, sautéed, mashed, or puréed and used in stocks, stews, and pot roasts. Also, a good storage variety, ‘Hollow Crown’ can last up to six months in a root cellar.‘Hollow Crown’ is one of the oldest parsnip varieties still being grown today. Fat Goose Pole Bean - The yields are impressive! A pole beam used as dry primarily but can be eaten as a snap bean if harvested young. The beans are tan and are round, flat but thick. The vine grows around 6-8' tall and is a heavy producer. This bean is grown at Firefly Farm in our heirloom production garden. The origin of this bean comes from Seedsavers Exchange who received it from John Withee of Lynnfield, Massachusetts in 1981. We mentioned John Withee in out listings, like others seed collectors, to help show the work that was done. John received it from Dorotha Shortridge in the 1970's when she lived in Indiana. PRIVACY POLICY

If for any reason you are not happy with a purchase, please email us at andre@fireflyfarmandmercantile.com so we can assist.&nbsp; We do provide refunds up to 10 days of you receiving merchandise. We may ask for the product to be returned to be eligible for a refund. We do not do refunds for shipping unless it is something we feel we could have done better. Carriers often don’t deliver based on their own timelines but you can always pick up at our garden shop too. Unlike most online garden online retailers we have a business location too, so come in out and visit our farm.

REFUND POLICY

Shipping Policy: 
Seasonal Availability: We typically have more than one season of products available to order.&nbsp; We separate these at time of fulfillment. Shipping is typically collected for the shipment leaving the soonest and for pre-ordered items, we will send you a shipping invoice to pay before your merchandise arrives.&nbsp;
Pre-calculated weights:
Sometimes the products purchased may weigh more or less than the calculated shipping rate. We try our best to determine the weights based on current and past inventory.&nbsp; We do provide refunds proactively and will communicate accordingly.&nbsp;
We try our best to offer the right services for you at checkout. If we see an opportunity for a more desirable service we will reach out to you. Please ensure we have a good contact number or email&nbsp; so we can do so.&nbsp;
United States Postal Service and UPS services go out Monday through Friday. This allows us to ensure we provide a quality product at a reasonable rate. Any delivery times are just estimates from the carrier once they receive the package. We cannot change this due to Shopify’s policy. I would if I could as it can lead to some confusion.
We are a small garden shop and have very little pull with any carrier (and seriously who really does with USPS or any other). For the most part UPS timelines have been the most consistent. But there are not delivery dates but days your package will be in transit once we drop it off. In average we take 1-4 business days to fulfill orders and then the carrier’s approximate shipping times are added to that.&nbsp;

SHIPPING POLICY

We accept various forms for payment. Currently we accept Visa, Mastercard, Discover, and American Express as well as Google Pay and Shop Pay.
We strive to deliver on what we say we are going to do. Pre-orders are orders that are being taken without inventory on hand. The advantage is you get a great price, but sometimes crops just don't yield what is expected. We will use many different suppliers to fulfill your orders as best as possible. We won't substitute without your permission so please make sure you leave your best contact information so we can reach out to you. On occasion if unable to reach you, we will simply send the substitute product but you are welcome to call us once receiving it and letting us know you’d like a refund on it.
