An absolute favorite - Pink Surprise lilies or Nerine, also goes by Guernsey Lilies, Jersey Lilies or Cape Flowers and because of their habit of the leaves coming separately from the blossoms, they get referred to as Naked Ladies. We receive these in spring and fall. The leaves pop up, the leaves die and sometime later, lilies start popping up and you have blooms before you know it. They bloom in late summer and the red color is a wonderful addition to the garden. Timing: Wait for the heat. Zinnias are "sun-worshippers" and will grow twice as fast if you wait until the nights are consistently above 55°F to plant.</li>

Sowing: Direct sow 1/4" deep in well-drained soil. They can be started indoors, but they truly thrive when sown exactly where they are to bloom.</li>

Pinching: For a bushier plant with more flowers, "pinch" out the central bud when the plant is about 10–12 inches tall. This forces the plant to branch out and produce twice as many stems!</li>

Lorz Italian Softneck Braids - Our farmer loves to braid her prized Lorz Italian Garlic. She grows a limited amount each year and we were lucky enough io be able to be offered some braids. This strain if Lorz has been grown in her family for decades. This garlic will last us through June so use it after you run out of other garlics. The braids are 1 lb and have planting and culinary sizes. Plant the bigger ones and the smaller ones. They are hardy with mulch (like hardnecks) in our zone 4 climate.
