We found this popular one again! It arrives in early January 2024! Southern Exposure Seed Exchange -  Family heirloom from the Valsugana valley of Italy near Trento, via William Rubel. Originally brought to Italy from America, it evolved over hundreds of years to become the staple polenta corn of the valley. Introduced by SESE and Fedco Seeds 2009. Beautiful medium- to deep-red kernels are slightly pointed. Cornmeal has a pink cast, and makes a polenta with a remarkably rich, complex flavor. Plants grow 7-10 ft. tall - slightly smaller and faster maturing than other varieties we offer. Some tendency to lodge. Southern Exposure Seed Exchange - Revived by North Carolina seed saver Rob Danford. One of the few peppers that reliably produces well in the short Smoky Mountain growing season (150 days or less). An incredibly sweet, bright red, thick-fleshed pimento pepper, 4 x 1½ in. Great raw, as well as for cooking, roasting, and canning. Small (24-30 in.) plants may be closely spaced (18 in. apart). 'Ace Summer Sunset' has beautiful colors of pinks and oranges.  The blossoms will dazzle you in your garden. And your vases will never look the same with these beauties in them.  We provide them in clumps the majority of the time. Sometimes they will be stand alone with necks and eyes depending on the season’s harvest.   Dinnerplate Dahlias are awesome additions to any garden. They provide structure and color to any garden with minimal effort. They do rather well in the back of your beds because of their size or even in stand-alone rows. Monty Byers released this in 1989.  If you have room for one more, this is it.  Bearded Irises are wonderful. Chances are if you see tulips in a public setting it is probably a Darwin Hybrid. They are a popular choice because of their large blossoms, the strength of the stem, resilience to bad weather, and their perennial like behavior when planted in their happy spot.  Our bulbs are close to 5” in circumference ( 12+ cm) which makes them some of the biggest you can purchase and are sourced from Holland.
