Renee's Garden - A French delicacy. Our improved cultivar of heirloom Reine de Vallée produces dainty little pointed red berries with an ambrosial woodland flavor. Mignonette forms compact perennial plants that grow in pretty leafy mounds and produce fruits the first summer from seed to enjoy all season long. 'Cafe Au Lait' Dahlia (Dinnerplate) $14.00
'Cafe Au Lait' Dahlia (Dinnerplate) - The blossoms hues of whites and pinks will brighten your landscape and arrangements.  I recommend starting this variety 2-3 months ahead of the last frost as it seems to be one of the latest ones to bloom. The color and bloom structure will vary until the cool weather sets in.  Dinnerplate Dahlias are awesome additions to any garden. They provide structure and color to any garden with minimal effort. They do rather well in the back of your beds because of their size or even in stand-alone rows. We add a few alfafla pellets in the hole and backfill with topsoil amended with compost. We space this variety 18" apart.  We recommend to simply pinch back the shoots after about 3-4 weeks to encourage branching.  You can amend soil with 10-10-10 or something similar. Just make sure the first number (nitrogen) is 5 or 10. You can fertilize every 4 weeks to help achieve larger blossoms. For 90% of us, don’t water until your Dahlia sprouts. If your soil is very dry, water the soil first and then let it stand for 30 minutes before planting. Mulch around your plant leaving bare dirt directly above the tuber. Southern Exposure Seed Exchange - 120 days , Given by Alice Gamewel via Charles Hoehnle. Introduced 2008 by SESE. A beautiful plant with dark red stems and leaves. 3-5 ft. tall, grows well in a container or in a flower bed. Green when it first emerges but soon develops its red coloring. The cotton is a short staple white.  Brown Cotton was grown pre-Civil War by slaves who were not permitted to grow white cotton. There were also green, blue, yellow and poink naturally colored cottons. These heirloom cottons are now quite rare. Cannot ship to TX. Some other southeastern states require a waiver or permit; contact your extension agency for more information. Instructions - Cotton is an annual plant that requires a long, warm growing season to mature properly. Needs full sun. In zones 8-10 it can be sown directly after the last frost. In zones 5-7, treat like tomatoes, start seed indoors and transplant out 4-8 week-old seedlings after last frost. Seed germinates in 7-21 days at 70 degrees F. Anouska is one of our favorites and is a top 3 Roselily for our gardeners too. The Roselily Collection is recently introduced. Oriental Lilies are probably the most popular type of lily and the Roselily will keep them as heavy favorites. Southern Exposure Seed Exchange - Beautiful 3-5 ft. plants with red stems and leaf veins. The bright red calyxes can be used to make “zingy” tea, sauce, syrup, or jam, or candied whole for an unusual treat. For strongly flavored teas, simmer for 10-20 minutes. Roselle was called “Florida cranberry” in the 1890s. The flowers and young leaves are edible and have a citrus tang. The stir-fried greens are much used in Burmese cooking! We are harvesting now! Firefly Farm & Mercantile -  Sieva Lima, aka Carolina Lima or Small White Lima. This lima is our most popular lima we offer. Folks love the rich butter bean flavor. The vines will reach 10' and on our 6' fence we tend to trim them to 7' so it spurs them into bean production a little quicker since our farm is in a valley. Our stock will be limited in 2026 as we partner with small farms to grow the stock we need to meet our gardeners' needs. The cool nights help to ripen the seed so it is happy up north but must be started right away once it is warm enough. Seed Exchange - Also known as Cherokee Black, the variety is good as both a snap and a dry bean; when mature, the greenish-purple 6” pods encase shiny jet-black seeds. This bean was shared with Seed Savers Exchange by the late Dr. John Wyche of Hugo, Oklahoma. His Cherokee ancestors carried this bean over the Trail of Tears, the infamous winter death march from the Smoky Mountains to Oklahoma (1838-39) that left a trail of 4,000 graves.
