Fall Planting Garden Bulbs

Schubertii alliums are 4-6" across in bloom size and stand 16" tall. They are a loose head allium where they bloom close to the center and far away giving you a multidimensional look to the blossom size. We did a close up of the blossom to show that mutlidimensional charactersitic of this allium.  They are a cost effective alternate to Giant Alliums. When massed together they give a whimsical and wonderful effect in the gardens and for your flower arrangements. ‘Brown Lasso' is a fun and complex re- bloomer.  The colors yellow, orchid, and brown all come together and will mezmorize you.  It has earned numerious awards over the years. Hybridized by E. Buckles by O. D. Niswonger in 1972.  Bearded Irises are wonderful. They are easy to grow and give you wonderful results.  Bearded Irises are hardy from Zone 3 all the way to Zone 10.  They do not need a chilling period so they can grow almost anywhere in the United States.  It’s not uncommon to hear stories how immigrants would bring these flower with them from their home countries throughout Europe.  If you walk through suburbs and cities, you will start to be able to see the diversity of these species. 'Cantina' - A wonderful rebloomer for any garden. Deep purple to almost blck blooms will grace your garden twice a year.  This is a popular variety but can be hard to find. Easter Charm Bearded Iris - Irises with dark tops and lighter colors on the bottom are such an unexpected sight. All the petals are ruffled with yellow edging. The beard sports creamy white, while the upper is an ombré of purple to light purple. A fantastic flower in all respects. This is slight shorter coming in at 30” which means it will have some earlier blooms than the very tall one. It could be a blossom or extreme or full a gap in iris blossoms - height does matter! If you aren’t sure, go ahead and measure them this season and take some notes.  Bearded Irises are wonderful.
