Fall of 2025 Shipping - Our Jumbo Size Ranunculus corms are a great way to get more flowers the first year. The bulbs are two to three times the size of our regular corms. Ranunculus are a favorite bride's flowers and yet gardeners shy away from these very easy flowers.  You simply treat them as begonia but for full sun conditions. They are exceptional in garden beds and stunning in containers. The blooms are full and the foliage is lush. Samantha Roselily -  She is our most popular Roselily - I am not sure if it is for the name or the stunning blossoms!  The Roselily Collection is recently introduced. Oriental Lilies are probably the most popular type of lily and the Roselily will keep them as heavy favorites. Butterflyweed milkweed blooms in the mid to late summer.  It has long lasting blooms and goes for about 4-6 weeks covered in orange blossoms. Sow early in spring while it is still cold and you will most likely have late summer blooms.  Plants reach 2-3' tall and prefer dry and sandy soils.  It does well in garden like well drained loamy conditions too. This is a Firefly kid favorite!  Seed Exchange - Also known as Early Coreless, this variety stores well and adapts well to different conditions. Its cylindrical roots are 7" long with blunt tips, and its fine-grained, bright red-orange flesh is nearly coreless, offering great flavor that’s sweet and crisp. Good when used as baby carrots, and excellent for freezing and juicing. 'Omega' Dahlia (Dinnerplate) $12.00
'Omega' Dahlia (Fimbriata) - The 'Omega' dinnerplate dahlia is tropical sunset of color that will provide countless blooms.  They are about 36" inches tall. Technically it is more closely of a cactus style dahlia. All dahlias offered are grown on our farm.  Sadly our stock of this was lost during the 2025 season due to excessive rain. We will look to source stock of this for upcoming years.  Dinnerplate Dahlias are awesome additions to any garden. They provide structure and color to any garden with minimal effort. They do rather well in the back of your beds because of their size or even in stand-alone rows. Just make sure the first number (nitrogen) is 5 or 10. You can fertilize every 4 weeks to help achieve larger blossoms. For 90% of us, don’t water until your Dahlia sprouts. If your soil is very dry, water the soil first and then let it stand for 30 minutes before planting. Mulch around your plant leaving bare dirt directly above the tuber. Black Beauty Zucchini Squash, 1957 variety, Organic $3.55 $4.00
Dark and glossy zuchinnis have become the main zuchinni sold and grown in the U.S. Black Beauty hails from my childhood state of Connecticut. This was developed by John Scarchuk.  The plants remain somewhat compact and provide loads of zuchinnis. This particular variety is best picked with 6-8" long.  45-65 days. We source this from multiple places inlcuding Seedsavers Exchange, Southern Exposure, or High Mowing but the seed is always organic. Little Bluestem - Prairie Native from $3.00
Little Bluestem is perhaps the most popular native grass in the USA.  It's beautiful blue-green foliage turns coppery red in the fall and provides wonderful winter interest. This is a must native plant for anyone who wants to encourage wildlife and beneficial insects as it provides tons of cover and forage. It was the most dominant of all the grasses 100 years ago across the United States and of course Canada.  The only states it is not native to is California, Nevada, Oregon, Alaska and Hawaii. This can be used for forage but if hayed, it does need to go to rest every few years or it will die off.  This is a very hardy perennial and easily survives down to USDA Zone 3.  Schizachyrium scoparium Characteristics:  Hardy to zone 3, perennial 2-3 foot tall clumps Blue-Green foliage turns copper-red in the fall Erosion control plantings 250 Seeds per packet  1lb covers 3,150 sq ft Instructions -Seeds can also be directly sown into a weed-free seedbed in May or June as they germinate in warm weather. We hope to have more 16mm presstapes soon.  NEW fresh stock 16mm Press Tapes Splicing Tape.  Use for adding leader, film repair, or splicing small reels of film on to larger reels. This is the easiest way to splice your  films.  Easy to use and works great! The printing head that stamped 8mm, Super 8 or 16mm presstapes is broken and has been deemed not repairable at this time. As such presstapes will be distributed without the distinctive writing we have all come to love. Tulsi (Holy Basil), Ancient Heirloom, Organic, area $3.55 $4.00
Tulsi has long been used as a drinking tea and culinary purposes. It goes by Holy Basil, Kapoor Basil, and many other variations. It is beloved by pollinators and readily self seeds in the garden. We planted in 2019 in our herb garden and haven’t had to plant it since. The seeds are easily saved and can be gifted to friends and family.  Tea can be served hot or it can be served cold. We like it chilled and we do sell it to restaurants to be used as tea throughout the Driftless region where we live.   Tulsi has been used for thousands of years in Ayurveda, which views it as an elixir of life.
