A U.S. native that resides from the Mississippi eastwards to the Atlantic Liatris Spicata goes by Marsh Blazingstar as it prefers wet or rich garden soils. This is the most commonly seen native in gardens as its dense flowers and rich in nector and pollen. We offer it in seed year round or corms in the spring. Corms will allow you to see flowers the first year while seed will take 2-3 years to flower.  Blazing Star or Liatris Spicata will bloom all summer, provide food for butterflies, perform great in dry conditions, and naturalize well in sunny to partial sunny areas. The blooms are great in arrangements and the plant is ignored by rodents, rabbits, and deer. This plant will work hard for you without having to work hard for it. A must have in every garden. Blazing star is a family of natives that you will find in a large area of the U.S prairies, meadows, forest edges and grasslands. Seed Exchange - The 3"-long, colorful, striped peppers of this variety are borne on 2'-tall plants with beautiful variegated foliage. Traditionally used in oyster and crab houses around Chesapeake Bay, this 19th-century African-American heirloom was first offered by William Woys Weaver in the 1995 Seed Savers Exchange Yearbook. His grandfather received the seeds in the 1940s from Horace Pippin of West Chester, Pennsylvania. 80 days from transplant. Medium hot. Rooted in history, A heavy yielder and a favorite in our 2016 pepper taste test. Aji Amarillo peppers are a key ingredient in Peruvian cuisine. This rare “Chinchi” strain bears smaller peppers, about 3 × ½ in., much earlier in the season than the standard Aji Amarillo. Thanks to Chris Watson for providing seedstock to Southern Exposure, SESE introduced this in 2018. Fruity, flavorful, with medium-high heat. Characteristics:  Organic, non-GMO, and open-pollinated  3" fruits 59 days for green peppers, longer to ripe toyellow .3 grams of ~40 seeds  Instructions - Peppers prefer light, well-drained, moderately fertile soil with pH 6.5-6.8. Use a high phosphorus starter fertilizer when transplanting to give young peppers a good start. Keep nitrogen levels in moderation, as high amounts can reduce yields. Start transplants 6-8 weeks before the planting date. Sow seeds into flat ~4 seeds/inch and then pot up into 2” or larger cells after the first set of true leaves appear. The optimal soil temperature for germination is 85°F.  For growing transplants, maintain the temperature at around 75°F during the day and 65°F at night. Harden off plants by slightly reducing the temperature to 60-65°F and reducing water for 2-3 days before transplanting. We brought in borage for our own organic Seedstock this past April as retail packets were becoming short in supply.  This beautiful herb, common in European cuisine, has cucumber flavored leaves and stunning delicate flowers.  Use young leaves salads, sauteed or made into a refreshing drink. Outhouse Hollyhocks - We love hollyhocks.  They are the classic farm and cottage garden flower. Once established they reseed for year after year blooms. Single blooms of various shades of white, magenta, reds, burgandies and whites. Hollyhocks are biennials.  They bloom the second year in the North or first year in more moderate climates with longer season. Start them in February in the cold north and many will blossoms by summer's end. Self-seeding biennial, 6-9' tall. Renee's Garden - Italian heirloom yields nicely shaped, light green fruits you’ll find meltingly tender, custardy, and delicious–never watery or mushy. Early bearing vines with marbled leaves. Oxheart   In the early part of the 20th century (~1925), a tomato mutated and had this distinctive shape what has become known as an oxheart. Heavy yielding vines produce extra large, pink tomatoes weighing 1-2 lbs. Glory of the Snow are a welcomed sight after a long winter. They have been wowing gardeners since 1878.  Luciliae is part of the Chionodoxa luciliae family and is named after Lucile, the wife of Swiss Botanist Pierre Edward Bossier. Our French Gold Pole Beans never last very long and Renee's always tends to run out before the growing season for zones 4-6 so do get your orders in for these classic.  Renee's Garden - Golden-yellow long, slim juicy French filet pole beans with a fine sweet flavor.
